Guidelines for New England Faceters Competition 2017.

The New England Faceters Competition is held during the Capital Mineral Club’s annual Gem and Mineral Show in Concord New Hampshire. The show for this year will be held 8/26-27/2017 at the Everett Arena, Concord, NH.

The competition is a people’s choice pretty rock contest.
The voters are paid show attendees.
The competition is open to anyone.

The guidelines are:
$20.00 non-refundable fee. The fee money is used for the prize money for the three category winners.
All stone material must be Natural and cut by the person entering the competition.
3 Gemstones may be entered. These gemstones can be placed into any of the gemstone categories.
(As all 3 into large category or 1 into each category).

The (3) gemstone categories:
Small: Up to 10 mm.
Medium: 11 mm to 20 mm.
Large: 21 mm to whatever.

The category winners are determined by the gemstone that has the highest amount of votes in there designated gemstone category.
There are 4 competition awards.
3 Gemstone category prize money awards.
1 People’s Choice Award trophy winner.

Category winners (Small, Medium, and Large) will receive 1/3 each of the total amount of the competition fee. (As $30.00 total fee amount equals $10.00 category prize money).

The People’s Choice Trophy winner, is the competition participant that has the highest total vote count from all 3 categories.
The winner has the trophy until the next annual competition. The People’s Choice Trophy must be present for the next New England Gem Cutters Competition.

New for this year. A new category has been added for Cabochons and Carvings. There will not be a fee for this category or any prize for the winner. If the participation is good for this year. The category will be moved into the prize money group for the next annual competition.
