Working the Tripp Mine 9/01/09

Well just when I thought the new location of the Wayne/Lee pit road was set it changed. The plan was to move the road from the pit side to the wall side of the W/L pit and then drop the pit side rim down to the water. We started that effort and hit some very good pegmatite.

I decided to chase it to the wall and it would even out the W/L floor. The beryl crystals got better and now we have a bench were the relocated road was and a new road on part of the pit side. To continual working the lower bench effort I will drop the pit rim top down so we can move the road to either side. The down side is that the rim top pegmatite looks on the surface as very poor quality. That makes the job harder knowing that the likelihood of finding any good beryl is slim. Hopefully the rim top peg will change up into a good peg.

I have also been posting the Toveco blog onto www.mindat.org with good results. Being so Mindat is going to be the new home for the Toveco blog. The Toveco site blog link will then change. If you have not visited Mindat, do so you will not be disappointed.

That’s it for now
